เรื่องราวของ ยองจัก (คิมคังอู) เด็กหนุ่มฐานะยากจนแต่ทะเยอทะยานคนหนึ่งที่เข้ามาทำงานเป็นเลขานุการให้กับมหาเศรษฐีที่รวยระดับหมื่นล้านและเป็นผู้อยู่เบื้องหลังความมั่งคั่งของประเทศเกาหลีใต้ ฉากหลังที่ดูน่าเกรงขามของคฤหาสน์หลังนี้ กลับซ่อนเบื้องหลังอันเน่าเฟะไม่มีชิ้นดี นายใหญ่ของ ยองจัก ผู้รั้งตำแหน่งประธานบริษัท หาใช่คนเก่งกล้ามีความสามารถอันใด เขาเป็นใหญ่ในตระกูลนี้ได้ ก็เพราะดิ้นรนเพื่อที่จะตกถังข้าวสาร

ผู้กุมอำนาจที่แท้จริงในบ้านคือ คุณนายกึมอ๊ก (ยุน ยอจอง) แต่ทันทีที่เธอได้ล่วงรู้ว่า สามีจอมกะล่อนของตนเอง กำลังเล่นชู้กับแม่บ้านสาวชาวฟิลิปปินส์ คุณนายกึมอ๊ก จะวางแผนเอาคืน ด้วยการบีบบังคับให้ ยองจัก ร่วมหลับนอนกับเธอ แล้วแผนการเอาคืนที่เดิมพันด้วยเงินตราและราคะ ค่อย ๆ ถลำลึกลงเรื่อย ๆ จนสุดท้ายต้องลงเอยด้วยโศกนาฏกรรม
